Textile design student with specialism in knitwear
The concept of ‘digital disruption’ is based on the feelings of nostalgia and escapism that have been evoked in such uncertain times of the emerging digital world. Looking back at the millennium period, inspiration is taken from the ways hardware was designed and the ways in which people interacted with the technology, informing knitwear designs with a functional purpose. In the aim of designing for the fashion of the near future, ways of bridging the gap between physical and digital are explored. To achieve this, technology should be viewed as a tool to support experiences. Rather than replacing traditional methods. This project aims to create a feeling of co-existence between the two, rather than an opposition. To embed the knitwear into a current contemporary fashion commerce, inspiration is taken from current and emerging design trends with the influence of the fashion from the late 90s into the early 2000’s to give a modern feel to remerging styles and trends.
