About
An Architectural graduate from the American University in Dubai. After the 5 year program I was rewarded as the Valedictorian of the Univeristy, an Outstanding architecture student, and the professor's award for my senior thesis.
Oniomania is a compulsive urge to buy stuff and Dubai is the shopping paradise. Paradox aims to create a rehabilitation space that provides shopping addicts with a serene environment to free their minds of the materialistic environment. The primary goal of this project is to transform consumers into producers; the design involves a production center, which allows consumers to produce and sell their products. As well as, a rehabilitation center to help these individuals connect with their inner selves. The concept is Dichotomy People's perception of addiction is like two polar opposites. Some view addicts as mentally ill individuals and others believe they are regular individuals going through a phase. Architecture has treated addicts as prisoners in the past, however, addicts require rehabilitation centers to be reshaped, as serenity requires a connection with nature.
