About

I am a mixed media textiles designer driven by a love of bold colour and innovative processes. My work combines traditional textile craftsmanship with contemporary digital techniques such as digital print, laser cutting, and CAD embroidery. Through playful experimentation with texture and layering, I create vibrant, tactile designs that are both visually striking and thought-provoking. Whether applied to fashion, interiors, or art, my work aims to inspire joy and offer a fresh take on textile design.

For my Final Major Project, 'Electric Dreams', I combined traditional craftsmanship with digital innovation, critiquing AI. My CAD embroidery brocades and intricate laser cuts are inspired by geometric abstraction and the feminist digital art exhibition, 'Radical Software', investigating how technology shapes creativity. I developed a conceptually rich, visually striking collection that merged advanced textile processes with a sleek, futuristic aesthetic and a strong design identity. Titled 'A Fashion of the Past', this project is a reflection of my style, values, and cultural perspective. It reimagines Chinoiserie, once a European fantasy of an imagined East, through authentic Chinese imagery and research-driven design. My vibrant digital prints were built upon my painterly oil pastel illustrations which developed into textured denims, and laser-cut beading. This thought-provoking exploration of reappropriation and cultural authenticity aims to educate whilst celebrating identity.
