About
I have forever been a creative person and I am so lucky to have had the opportunity to move around throughout my childhood. I love to celebrate and cherish memories of places through textiles and use my own life story as inspiration for my works. I explored capturing ‘where the land meets the sea’ for my final major project. I was very selective with my choice of materials as I wanted to use natural materials found along the coast. Specifically I focused on capturing the Maltese coastline as I am very lucky to be able to call Malta my home.
Where the land meets the sea
My final major project explored where the land meets the sea. In particular, I focused on the island of Malta which I am very lucky to call my home. I was fascinated by the dramatic features of the stunning Maltese coastline and all the interesting textures and gradients. I decided to be selective with my use of materials by using elements that belong on the coast such as water, salt and clay as well as natural yarns inspired by the cotton which grows near the coastline.
