What are flood-adaptive landscapes, and how can they reduce vulnerability in flood-risk areas along Chorlton Brook? This project explores the potentials of designing a real site, Lavington Avenue Playing Field, where flooding is caused by rainfall, human activity, and blocked culverts. A key strategy is opening the neglected river to engage communities visually and functionally, fostering awareness, adaptation, and shared responsibility. Downstream designs integrate emergent flood protection to safeguard residents. By combining real spaces with VR/AR, interactive tools, and QR codes, the project raises awareness, bridges architects and users, empowers isolated communities, and strengthens funding through visualised feasibility during site visits or the pre-construction stage.
