I'm a woven textile designer whose practice explores the fusion of fine art and textile design, with a strong focus on translating painterly forms into jacquard fabrics for interiors. My practice is defined by careful digital planning and an in-depth exploration of how weave structures interact with material and colour, uniting fine art with textile craftmanship.
This project blends fine art influences with technical weaving processes, using the jacquard and dobby loom to translate complex visual forms into bespoke woven fabric for interiors. I reinterpret botanical subject matter through the fractured lens of cubism, while investigating the power of colour, abstraction and perception, unlocking new compositional possibilities. Cubism, with its fragmented representation of reality and multiple overlapping perspectives, provides a compelling framework to explore how ordinary subjects can be perceived and reconstructed in dynamic ways, resulting in floral designs that distort reality through layered and multidimensional viewpoints. Central to this project is rigorous technical preparation and precision. I use Photoshop to digitally draft my artwork, enabling precise colour planning and placement control. In Pointcarré I assign shaded satin structures from weft to warp faced, building seamless tonal transitions.
