The feeling of being a child is unlike any other, unproblematic and unbothered by the opinions of others, however when we grow up we lose this carefree attitude. This collection is an ode to the childhoods we long to return to, bringing the colours, shapes and joy that we're destined to lose back into our lives. We're trained to lose any sign of immaturity the second we become adults, but why can't we revisit the things we loved in our youth? All I wanted as a little girl was to look like a princess, whereas in recent years I feel I have lost that fairytale attitude. Therefore, I used my own childhood images from playing dress-up to influence colour, fabrication and silhouette. My overarching goal for this collection is to reignite that once lost spark of joy to anyone and everyone that has lost it.
For this project I wanted to explore the relationship between man and nature. As a child, my family and I would often travel to the Yorkshire dales and go on lengthy walks. I always found myself intrigued by the view from the top of the hill, watching nature clash with the roads and other man made objects.
