About
I am a performance artist with a focus on ecological storytelling, using fantasy and gothic themes to draw attention to reality. I am particularly interested in creating immersive experiences which can create significant moments and affect change. I have worked primarily in prop -making, using environmentally conscious materials and in scriptwriting as a solo practitioner and in collaboration with others.
False Morels is an immersive escape room style experience. The piece utilises a satirical tone and video game style choices to highlight the environmental impacts caused by oil pollution. Using the fictitious world of ‘Amazonia’ as an allegory, False Morels explores a land which is brought into turmoil by a monstrous oil company, ‘Rexaco Petroleum’. A Mycologist is working on a solution of Mycoremediation – a real technique used by environmental groups to combat toxic oil dumping’s with mushrooms- but needs the help of willing participants to succeed. Guided by characters and objects, the participants must navigate their way through clues and create the de-pollution formula in order to escape before time runs out!
