About

Hi, I'm HyeMin Kim. I’m a multimedia creative with a focus on interactive design and arts. I am keen to create new and innovative experiences for my clients and audiences. My inspirations often come from observing and experimenting with nature. My skills include graphic design, creative coding, ideation, and visualization. If you have any comments or questions for me, please do not hesitate to contact me!

During my final year, I was blown away while looking at fruits. I found it very phenomenal that fruits contain extremely exquisite and beautiful components such as differently shaped and colored seeds, stems, leaves, peels, hairs, and so on. Therefore, since then, I have carried out a wide range of experiments by observing and dismantling fruits. #1. We All Were Creative ------------------------------------------------ 'We All Were Creative' is an interactive installation in which people are invited to lie down in a crib and experience a moment of infancy. They can touch each fruit toy hanging on the mobile in order to trigger different videos on the ceiling. Each video represents the creative imagination of a baby. Inspired by childhood memories of playing with stuffed toys as if they have lives of their own, I was reminded of the Japanese religion Shinto in which it is dictated that everything in the world has spirit. Subsequently, I created some fruit creatures. #2. 150 Dismantled Fruit Patterns ------------------------------------- While observing and dissecting fruits during my experiments, I rearranged every basic component of fruits into digital patterns in order to celebrate their beauty. There are over 150 different patterns.
