Course / Program Title: Footwear Design BA (Hons)
My creative interests are focused upon conceptual footwear, as well as material & construction innovations. This interest further extends to many forms of creative design – both physical and digital media; animation and photographic techniques, as well as unique engineering within clothing, garments and other products.
Throughout my studies as a Footwear Designer, I have won several project awards, including “Orthopaedic & Biomechanics”, a live industry project with Jimmy Choo, as well as the “Dr Martens” live project, which culminated in a summer internship, being selected as a finalist to present my work to adidas Originals in Germany, and finally, commendations from both the Worshipful Company of Cordwainers & Pattenmakers.
Creatively, I strive to continuously improve upon my technical skills within 2D & 3D design conceptualisation and physical prototyping, which are key skills that I excel in throughout all my work. Additionally, I have a keen interest in blending traditional techniques with modern design practices, an appreciation for craftsmanship & innovation.
A Footwear Concept taking inspiration from timeless craftmanship & techniques of Japanese Armour; Innovating & creating new form from traditional techniques, construction & shape of Armour Components. "Monozukuri" -/ "to make things" is a phrase likening to elevating such innovations & craftmanship to a level of 'peerless' design.
