Modern Heirloom reinterprets the cheongsam through a contemporary lens, exploring heritage, symbolism and identity. The project positions the garment as an evolving heirloom, preserving cultural meaning while allowing space for modern expression.

For this series, I explored the intersection of structure, sustainability and strength. As both photographer and art director, I wanted to challenge the idea of luxury by incorporating recycled materials into a high-fashion narrative. The flowing extension of the skirt is created using a simple black garbage bag transforming an everyday discarded item into a dramatic, sculptural element. Set against raw, textured rock formations, the contrast between organic landscapes and sharp tailoring creates a bold visual tension. The structured blazer, sleek leather skirt and clean white platforms emphasize power and femininity, while the recycled plastic adds movement and unexpected depth. This concept reflects how fashion can be expressive, intentional, and environmentally conscious at the same time. Beauty doesn’t always come from something new sometimes it’s about reimagining what already exists.
