About

I majored in fashion and accessory design as an undergraduate. I want to continue to specialise in clothing. I have excellent learning ability and often hold core positions.

Zhang Jinyu has achieved solid academic results in core fashion design courses. As Class Academic Representative, she has organized professional workshops and design critiques to strengthen communication between faculty and students and build a collaborative learning atmosphere. Her design practice focuses on the integration of traditional culture and contemporary aesthetics, and she explores the use of emerging technologies to create works with cultural connotations and innovative features.

Irreversible fragmentation

Specialisms:

Womenswear

This project stems from a profound personal experience - sudden pneumothorax. When suffering from the disease, the ruptured alveoli of the lungs will collapse irreversiblely, and the wounds left after puncture treatment will also become permanent scars. This experience made me face the essence of "unrecoverable damage", and also made me begin to examine myself: physical trauma will leave traces, and how should the "scars" in personality and "irreversible changes" in life be perceived and expressed? Therefore, I take "trauma" and "irreversible damage" as the core propositions of design, and explore the emotion and morphological logic behind them.

Arachne's resistance

Specialisms:

Womenswear

This project is inspired by Greek mythology. Alacne is a talented weaver who was punished by Athena because she openly opposed the gods, especially Zeus, the god who abused power to conquer mortal women. In my opinion, she symbolises freedom. Therefore, I reshaped the image of Alachne, portraying her as a capable person; reshaped her as an early feminis.

symbiotic garden

Specialisms:

Printmaking

This project comes from the coexistence of plants, science and technology and human beings in the post-human era.
