Hi, my name is Julie. And I just love photography. I don’t know what else is needed.
This work explores spirituality in analog photography, examining it as a contemplative medium capable of conveying an experience of presence, silence, and care. The theoretical part is based on Walter Benjamin’s concept of aura and Roland Barthes’s punctum, both of which are placed in the context of my personal practice. The practical part reflects work with light-sensitive emulsion, whose slowness and physical demands are understood as a form of meditative labor and inner stillness.
