About
Bachelor of Arts Graduate, specialising in Motion Design. I'm interested in applying multidisciplinary principles to the field of motion design; speculating on the existence of immersive spaces and how we interact with designed material across intersections of digital and physical space. My aim is to empathetically consider our future digital landscapes in fusion with regenerative design principles, encompassing our natural world on a journey into new realms of digitalisation.
‘Spaces (Undefined)’ explores a playful, immersive space outside of screens and high-tech simulations, re-thinking the way we utilise physical materials as we step into shared digital experiences. The project consists of a geodesic projection dome constructed with reclaimed wood, using spherical mirror projection onto a handmade material surface, with an immersive soundscape. The visuals are generated through an open source fractal software, based on geometric equations found in nature. Fractal imagery is visualised here as projections within geometric space: fusing connections through technological and natural materials. I explored the importance of user-defined experiences in spaces treated as dynamic entities: a shared feeling rather than static existence. Offering an alternate form of mixed reality; retaining the craft and tactility of human play and creation.
