Hey, my name is Kai and I love making things. I enjoy learning new skills and working with all kinds of materials. I have experience in ceramics, glass, wood, plastic, and various types of metalwork—and I don’t plan on stopping there. Besides that, I’m passionate about photography and documenting my projects. I’m also a strong problem solver and would love to bring all these skills together in one job. My dream is to craft and design in a prop shop or a similar creative environment—anywhere that needs someone like me with a wide range of abilities .
This project, my bachelor’s thesis, takes the form of a documentary-photographic exploration of the visible changes in the Harz region. From a personal perspective as a creative observer, the photo book examines the region’s structural decline, the transformation of its landscapes, and the effects of rural depopulation. The aim of this work is not to judge, but to raise awareness for the region through a deliberate selection of images. The project is intended as a visual impulse - one that encourages perception, dialogue, and ultimately change.
