I first became interested in fashion design through sewing my own clothes. As a fashion design student, have explored a variety of interests in couture, avant-garde design, sustainable materials, and sportswear through design projects and internships. I am inspired by the hope of a better future for the fashion industry that holds craftsmanship at the center of all design. In my efforts to promote sustainability, I have further specialized in leather usage and sustainable tanning practices. My experiences at the Academy of Art University have made me a well-rounded designer that is capable of patternmaking, textile design, construction, corsetry, and more. With this unique skillset, I have grown into an adaptable designer without losing my unique perspective. I am eager to continue learning and building my skillset and experiences.
one-of-a-kind crystallization process to add structure and natural textures to fabrics
This project is a holiday collection for Banana Republic using wood block printing, veg tan leather, and specially designed quilted corduroy. The collection stays true Banana Republic's history, luxury ideals, and core inspirations.
This collection features fabrics that I crystallized using a uniquely designed process of borax crystallization. Through a developed understanding of the chemistry and fabric properties, I was able to create naturally grown crystals that are safe on skin and durable.
