Artist Henri Rousseau became renown for his 'Jungles in Paris' series from 1880-1910, where he formed exotic oil paintings from his own imagination, visits to the zoo and his back garden. In tune with Rousseau's use of imagination and envision of a jungle, this Childrenswear collection explores the vibrant animals depicted in his painting and his utilisation of bold colourations. Silhouettes take inspiration from the animalistic features within the series and the classic explorer attire.
The motherboard - Inspired by the motherboard within a computer, this seasonless sportswear collection for Stella McCartney x Adidas explores eccentric prints and seams details that follow the shaping on the motherboard. When the computer turns on, the motherboard emits a contrasting bold blue colour, inspiring the colour palette for this collection
Inside a Computer- The computer has become a huge part of many people’s day-to-day lives, through emailing, writing and looking at the internet. This concept looks directly inside the computer through primary photographs, revealing unusually shaped components and intricately hidden details. Twisting of wires, the fan and the motherboard have formed the key silhouette inspiration for this collection. Luxury fabrics of silks, cashmere wools and metallic leathers are used in combination with bold, technological prints to follow the brand Marni’s aesthetic.
Cerebral Organoid – When Cerebral Organoids are placed under a UV light, a colourful glow is emitted helping distinguish the effects of the brain cells. This vibrant glow has inspired the colour palette and prints for this S/S 21 collection for Monki. Close up photographs of the cells has inspired gathering and ruffle details, forming the key silhouette for this concept.
