About

Lesedi Mot Designs is a South African slow fashion brand based in Johannesburg, known for crafting bold, one-of-a-kind garments designed to turn heads. Every piece is custom-made, celebrating individuality and timeless elegance. Sustainability is at the heart of the brand — we create our own textiles from off-cut pieces, transforming old materials into striking, wearable art.

This menswear mini lookbook celebrates the fusion of heritage and contemporary design. Each shirt is crafted from SeShweShwe, Tsonga, and Venda prints, expertly tailored to combine bold pattern with sharp silhouette. Every piece tells a story, honouring tradition while embracing modernity, individuality, and confidence. From vibrant, expressive Tsonga motifs to the structured elegance of SeShweShwe and the intricate detail of Venda prints (Nwenda), these shirts are made to stand out. Clean lines, intentional detail, and striking cultural patterns come together to create menswear that’s vibrant, refined, and unapologetically distinctive — designed for the modern man who dresses with purpose.

This Matric Dance mini lookbook celebrates the artistry of custom design for life’s most memorable moments. Each gown is perfectly tailored, featuring structured corsetry, graceful silhouettes, and intentional detail. Romantic, refined, and made to turn heads — these looks honour individuality and timeless elegance.

My graduate collection is titled 'Vhuvha ha Minwenda /bhubha ha minwenda/. which means "The Essence of Minwenda" This collection is centered around my VhaVenda heritage and identity. I was drawn to this concept because I wanted to explore origins of the VhaVenda culture and print namely; Minwenda/Nwenda. VhaVenda originated from the kingdom of Mapungubwe (9th Century), and in that, Makunda (VhaVenda bangles) are used as accessories to show links and pay homage to the Mapungubwe Kingdom. I strive to constantly find beauty in the essence of my culture and further revitalise interest in it. Fabric details: - Nwenda in yellow and orange - Multicoloured Textile created from scratch, using scrap fabric, offcuts, and binding strips.

MApungubwe interpretation centre

Mapungubwe Interpretation Centre is a museum in Musina, Limpopo, that houses historical artifacts, images, and information that tell the story of Mapungubwe's incredible history. This project is solely based on inquiring into the elements alongside the principles of design, through the architectural building whilst redesigning the conventional white shirt.
