About
Makushla is an emerging Industrial Designer originally from Tasmania, now based in Melbourne. Her design methodology centres around texture and tactile experience, leaning heavily on physical prototyping and iteration to find new ways of working with existing materials. She finds inspiration in the outdoors as an avid hiker, boulderer and general adventurer.
The Sobremesa Cup Set is designed for table-less dining. The stainless steel cups are to be held in hand for the duration of the drink, whether it be coffee, wine or bitters. They might be used after a long late lunch, while sitting back in an armchair, or taken outdoors to the patio on a hot summer evening for a soiree. Further afield, the cups might be taken to the meadow for a picnic, or on a multi-day hike along the ridge. When not in use, they hook onto a hiking pack, or can hang off a hook in the kitchen.
