I’m a recent BA graduate from Manchester Fashion Institute, skilled in all aspects of design process from conceptualisation to pattern making to final production. I have a keen eye for detail and an eclectic approach when designing, collating textiles and trims is essential to my design process.
‘Honey I’m home’ is a celebration of maximalism, heavily inspired by interior design specifically the arts and crafts movement. I have approached design with William morris being a massive source of inspiration, creating prints using local graffiti as my ‘flora and fauna ‘ to form repeat floral prints. The use of satin, velvets and layering of prints in the collection emulates the luxurious and excessiveness of the arts & crafts period. The collection is expressive and playful with frills and tassels taking dopamine dressing to a new level.
Magpie man explore the concept of individuals surrounding themselves with objects and belongings. How as humans we have desires to collect items, cherishing possessions that bring us joy and comfort. I explored nomadic systems and the idea of carry belonging on oneself at all times- combine with meeting the requirements of a live Brief for Belfstaff I ended up with a contemporary layered look for the ‘archival consumer’
