About
Hi there!
My is name is Nina, and I'm an aspiring Visual Development & Concept Artist. As a child I fell head first into the escapistic worlds, from video games to the magical horse collectible cards with awesome artwork of which I had too many. And I don't think I ever really escaped from these worlds. Wanting to create my own and tell my own stories it has driven me to pursue a career in art at St. Joost School
of Art & Design.
My energy comes from bringing these worlds to life through digital paintings as well exploring and developing the visual aesthetic of these worlds. My inspiration gets drawn from a lot of places, from stories of mythology to real world events. Even though my work is usually escapist
in nature, I am not scared of taking on serious subjects.
My main interest lies in Concept Art and Visual Development, but during my
studies I discovered that I really enjoy project management as well.
Taking a simple idea to a complete project and leading it in the right direction in collaboration with other creatives each with their own unique strengths and insights gives me a lot of energy!
Van het Huis / On The House is an animated short film exploring both the generational aspect of and personal struggle with alcoholism. Addiction is something deeply personal, often accompanied by shame and both bodily and mental struggles. With this film, I wish to cultivate empathy for both the perpetrators and the affected, as these two often go hand in hand in generational cycles.
