About
Hi, I’m Rachel Creevy the artist behind Rachel Jayne Design.
I am a passionate Textiles and Surface Designer based in Hartlepool in the beautiful North East of England.
I specialise in creating digital print/designs from hand rendered or photographic imagery.
Within my work I often explore cultural and social elements, which is to be expected from someone who is also a local elected Councillor. I adore the must mundane flora and fauna found in our country and this is visible within my work.
My most recent collection, ‘Englands Heritage’, was inspired by visits to stately homes and gardens in the North East and beyond. I considered some of the flora found in gardens as well as those found in more mundane properties found in our area.
This design collection has a bold and fun colour palette combined with beautiful imagery drawn, painted and lino cut in a variety of ways, they demand attention. Using digital techniques has enabled me to develop some eye-catching designs which are aimed at the mid to high end of the interiors market.

meet the maker exhibition
This project was developed for the Bowes Museum 'Meet the Maker' exhibition in March 2023. For this exhibition I was inspired by articles within the museum's collection and produced two hand printed lengths, a digitally printed and hand embellished scarf, and upcycled a dolls house, using my own miniaturised wall and floor coverings.
