About
Ornate, opulent and original. I am a London based multidisciplinary hand embroidery practitioner. My embroidery is driven by my insatiable curiosity and love of research. Colour and sculptural qualities are key in my quest to convey a narrative, expression and to underscore the importance of craftsmanship and technique in hand embroidery.
Pure Opulence is a deeply personal response to when I allowed myself the precious commodity of time during my three years at The Royal School of Needlework. The end result is a bespoke wearable art piece full of self-expression and the memories of my time spent embroidering. The considered use of midnight blue enhances the richness of my work and showcases its sculptural qualities. I drew my inspiration from 18th century decorative design detail, Fabergé eggs and my love of flora. Pure Opulence is fully hand embroidered using Goldwork, Beadwork and Raised work techniques. All embellished and worked onto padded silk taffeta and silk organza.
