Experiencing a life of bouncing between home and London, I compare myself to a migratory bird. Based on this idea, I started by looking into the elements that compose my life and mixing and matching them. The drawing and design inspirations are mainly from my observation of the surroundings, such as city parks and many indoor spaces like grocery stores and my flat. By patching different features of these areas together, I hope to build a nest for myself as well as many others who feel the same way.   The making process is a mixture of digital embroidery and hand fabric manipulation. From layering threads to make own fabric base to weaving embroidered stripes, this project explores many possibilities for weaving. Moreover, techniques such as the use of elastic bobbin, smocking, and pleating are used frequently in order to create flowing fabrics that would move with the body.    This collection targets the high-end ready-to-wear market and embraces the comeback of the Boho chic style. Therefore, reflecting the eclectic and individualistic essence of this style, the colour palette is a combination of natural tones with bursts of bright, vibrant colors.   As a textile designer, craftsmanship and innovation are my key values and I believe this is reflected in my work. Thus, I reckon that I am suitable for both the innovation &creativity and technical excellence categories.
