Sasha is a fashion designer born in Ho Chi Minh City, whose work explores the complexities of growing up between cultures. Drawing from her Vietnamese, Pied-Noir, and French heritage, she weaves tradition and materials in search of silhouettes that embody the timeless tension between belonging and identity.
With a meticulous attention to detail and a passion for construction and craftsmanship, Sasha’s professional experience includes roles as a design intern and freelance seamstress for brands like Victoria Beckham and Dreaming Eli. Her journey reflects a deep curiosity for learning and a commitment to mastering the art of garment making.
A call, a cry, or an ode, to my mother, my grandmas and maternal figures in my life. But most importantly to my younger self, in her struggle for belonging and acceptance within a metissage of Vietnamese, Pied-Noir and French heritage. This collection is built from memory: Mulberry silks sourced from the same Bến Thanh Market stall my Mother has visited ever since childhood, heirloom buttons passed down through generations of french women, and a mix of donated trims and flawed mother of pearl buttons. I have created this collection to express the complexity of growing up between cultures, the underpinnings and quiet ache of feeling like one is either never enough or too much. Through the eyes of my child self, with a touch of wonder for playing dress-up in my mother’s closet, I explore Identity, craftsmanship whilst embracing raw beauty in imperfections.
