About
I am a drawing-led knit designer with a BA in Fashion and an MA in Textiles. My practice is rooted in drawing as a way to translate emotion and memory into material form. Working with knitting, crochet, and mixed media, I explore how layered textile processes can embody sensitivity, vulnerability, and spiritual presence.
This collection, SHRUB, explores the metaphor of over-constructed ornamental urban shrubs as a reflection of individuals shaped by social constraints. Drawing is at the centre of my practice, guiding the transformation of sensitive sketches into knit, collage, and mixed textile forms. Through layering and restructuring materials, I experiment with how textiles can express both vulnerability and resilience. The work combines elements of sketching, fitting, and sculptural textile construction, aiming to reframe restrictive frameworks into sources of strength and vitality.
