My name is Thomas Bradford, a London-based designer born and raised in the vibrant city of Johannesburg, South Africa. My multicultural upbringing has deeply influenced my design ethos, infusing my work with a fusion of cultural perspectives and a passion for heritage craftsmanship.
Looking ahead, my vision as a designer is to continue pushing the boundaries of heritage menswear and workwear and reinterpreting traditional elements within menswear. I am passionate about celebrating heritage British fabrics and craftsmanship while infusing my designs with a rebellious spirit and contemporary edge. Through my future collections, I aim to inspire conversation, provoke thought, and contribute to the dynamic evolution of the fashion industry.
"Expendables" explores military pattern cutting and fabrics through the lens of young male rebellion and resilience. It critiques how governments deem these men expendable in war, yet they retain their defiant spirit. The collection draws inspiration from both utilitarian and heritage menswear design. Each garment reflects practicality, researched detail, and personal reinterpretation. Key to the collection is the use of waterproof fabrics—sourced from Halley Stevenson's Mills, as well as deadstock materials, with some waterproofed by hand.
