About
I'm designing spaces to tell stories. For me, space is like another form of film, like stop-motion animation. Using different layouts, materials, or form languages, we can make space to convey emotions to audiences, so as to create a unique, immersive, and meaningful spatial experience. Therefore, I think it's more important to create a sense of hierarchy.
I'm a multi-discipline designer not just working on physical spatial experience design, but also concept design, motion design. Understanding the limitation of the physical work also contributes to my understanding of rules that can be broke within a virtual world. With all my understanding of spaces through different perspective, I can create a unique and attractive spatial experience to the audience.
One way is an interactive story telling project happening in an apocalyptic future where our planet is overly polluted. Following main character’s journey of finding a way to escape from the planet. Audiences will be exploring terrible future environment scenarios due to human’s ignorance of protecting the planet. Global Design Graduate Show 2023
Donner summit tunnel is a redevelopment project based on the history of the chinese workers who built the tunnel. Through a linear space experience, the visitors will be taken into the hisotry to experience the development of the story from different perspectives as they are going from the past to present to future. The history will be presented to visitors in two ways: either people interpreting the history; or people being the subject of the history itself. As people are experiencing all these different moments, people will get a better understanding of the locality of donner summit tunnel as a place of the history, and more importantly, remembering the history of the chinese workers. Hamcus x tesla virtual experience
A VR showroom experience that’s providing a hybrid spatial experience that’s including elements of two brands “Hamcus” and “Tesla”. Global Design Graduate Show 2023
BeeFriends is a nativebee supporting program that creates a sound-driven AR experience and combining with native bee garden for hikers to learn about native bees and the surroundings during urban green exploration. With GPS-enable audio technology, hikers can follow the sound to find out traces left by different native bees. After users scan the traces, a virtual native bee will show up on the screen and navigating the user to see its life with an interactive experience of the real-world environment.
