This body of work illuminates concerns regarding possible backlashes in posting sports-related injuries on social media. Huang utilises experiences from recent injuries to draw awareness to the modern dependency on social media. Problems are dramatised, celebrated, and discussed, but left unsolved. Huang’s prints embody the nebulous attitude of social media users; specifically, its blatant disregard of authenticity in pursuit of entertainment and fame. Through linocut, Huang attempts to mimic the mechanics of social media by restricting carving tools and repeating patterns that go into the print. A nice day, must be, when a hot plate sat on my face. Lights soothe the straining heart, and “pulse” too impatient to wait another day. Situated, ACL torn but can’t I move? Pain, a light pivot feels like a thousand splits and a thousand… no more Mind I, anymore of this deliciousness? Taste of sourness, sweetness, and caring prolong the pain “Caring” exits, “Sweetness” benches, and “Sourness” in play Thanks for breakfast, but where’s the check? Mind I, share the desperation for a spare of change Wait, feels different when shared on screens. Count of three, emojis all hail the king. Red, blue, prayer, time to leave the scene.. Best wishes, AfterBreakfast
