Yiu is a Hong Kong-based media artist. He works with moving images and interactive media. It allows him to go beyond the border of the physical world, yet connect back to people's sensations. He is drawn to overlooked moments and subtle ephemera of daily life, he transforms mundane occurrences—the slow progression of time, the accumulation of digital "cookie crumbs"—into contemplative visual experiences.
Our passion, emotions, and attention travel through the 8 hours and 9,616.54 kilometers that separate us. Yet, in that distance, they blur. After three years without such a separation, I found myself compelled to fly to her, to see the deer and swans in quiet harmony. This work seeks to visualize the detachment and the complex emotions that cannot be put into words. The narrative unfolds with screens of varying densities and resolutions, constructing this installation that embodies the connection across time and space.
