We are all Collaborators. SINCE DAY ONE OF THE LEVI'S®STORY IN 1873 wearing denim was about making it your own, whether that meant repairing the stresses of mining in the gold rush, sitting in the bath for the true shrink-to-fit experience or customising them for personal style.

This year’s contest is about customization. The ultimate collaboration is with each individual – the collaboration of one-of-one.

Fashion is self expression. And throughout our history, Levi’s have been naturally adopted as canvases of self expression. After styling, customization is the next step in self expression. Many of our collaborations have been based on customization : OFF-WHITE, Vetements, Junya Watanabe, KITH etc and we offer customization at the Tailorshops in Levi’s stores and the ultimate bespoke experience with Levi’s Lot#1

So we’d like you to design some customised Levi’s and imagine how the future of customization could be.

Jonathan Cheung,

SVP Design, Levi’s

THE BRIEF & DELIVERABLES

4 STEPS -

1 - Design 2 customised outfits using Levi’s. The content can be real garments or they can be simulations made with illustrations. The denim pieces can be thrift-store (vintage) Levi’s or new Levi’s. If you’d like to add other Levi’s pieces as well as the denim e.g hoodies, T-shirts etc that’s OK

2 - Show in 2D form - by sketch, illustration, graphics etc - how you would customise your items, whether that be an embroidery, stitch effect etc.

3 – Make a video! It’s optional, but we’d love to see one. It can be short, say 2 mins or up to 15 mins.

4 - The Future of Customization: What’s the next level of customization? How can the customer be involved in the customisation process? How do you envision Levi’s being part of culture and life through engaging with customization? Imagine how customization could be scaled in the future? What does that look like? How do you see our tailorshops of the future? More online tutorials? Show how the next level of customisation could come to life.

This can be in the form of sketches, a short essay, video, social media tiles. Simple social media tutorials.
