About

Fashion Student in Leeds with a real love for fashion styling and visual merchandising. Currently based in Leeds, I am finishing my final year as a fashion design student but have also completed a placement year in industry. I undertook three internships, one South East London as a studio intern for a tailor. Another in Leeds as a leather goods studio assistant and store assistant. And finally, an internship with a celebrity fashion stylist. Inclusivity and creative expression are the main sources of my inspiration. I also look to sustainability in rewearing old clothes and re-identifying our old clothes as new garments and they way they are worn. Although I predominately enjoy styling, I have also explored visual merchandising as a way to rearrange accessories and garments to create an display of art. Throughout my industry placements I was able to improve and learn new skills such as communicating with new client's and high profile clients. Dealing with shipment dispensaries and factories. Personal and editorial styling assisting work. As well as my improvement of adobe, sewing skills, pattern cutting and designing throughout my final year studies.

broken connections

Taking a huge influence from my mother, Caroline, I explored her re-identifying journey from being able-bodied to a wheelchair user and taking from abstract and juxtaposition silhouettes. Following on from Caroline's documented conversations I have taken inspiration from her emotions, wardrobe colour schemes and physical experiences to explore colour, texture and detailing. And have been able to explore further silhouettes from abstract photography and major influence from Commé Des Garçons top heavy garments.
