About

Fashion Student in Leeds with a real love for fashion styling and visual merchandising. Currently based in Leeds, I am finishing my final year as a fashion design student but have also completed a placement year in industry. I undertook three internships, one South East London as a studio intern for a tailor. Another in Leeds as a leather goods studio assistant and store assistant. And finally, an internship with a celebrity fashion stylist.

Inclusivity and creative expression are the main sources of my inspiration. I also look to sustainability in rewearing old clothes and re-identifying our old clothes as new garments and they way they are worn.

Although I predominately enjoy styling, I have also explored visual merchandising as a way to rearrange accessories and garments to create an display of art.

Throughout my industry placements I was able to improve and learn new skills such as communicating with new client's and high profile clients. Dealing with shipment dispensaries and factories. Personal and editorial styling assisting work. As well as my improvement of adobe, sewing skills, pattern cutting and designing throughout my final year studies.

Gaining hands-on experience in event management, resolving shipping challenges, liaising with the Italian atelier, contributing styling skills to visual merchandising, and assisting with in-house look-book photoshoots within an accessories-focused environment.

Collaborating with my friend, who is a fashion marketing graduate, I contributed to her project focused on female friendships. I helped her select outfits from a local up-cycling brand alongside our own wardrobe pieces. We decided that a location photoshoot would better capture the essence of the concept, allowing the models to showcase a genuine harmony of friendship.

alexander mcqueen jacket project

This project was an Alexander McQueen project by second-year fashion students at Leeds Beckett. Working with jackets made from McQueen's couture fabrics gifted to second-year students, I was able to style these in a classic McQueen way bringing in tailored silhouettes and pops of colour through makeup and accessories.

Working with Emily Tighe I was able to conduct my photoshoot by being the head stylist and sourcing a model, photographer, make-up artist and hair stylist. I was given a word brief of the word time. I then had to conduct my own concept "Movement in time". I fed into this idea of time as a progressive fantasy theme. Showing alien-like ideas throughout. As well as slouched silhouettes and subtle signs of metallic fabrics and accessories.

Taking a huge influence from my mother, Caroline, I explored her re-identifying journey from being able-bodied to a wheelchair user and taking from abstract and juxtaposition silhouettes. Following on from Caroline's documented conversations I have taken inspiration from her emotions, wardrobe colour schemes and physical experiences to explore colour, texture and detailing. And have been able to explore further silhouettes from abstract photography and major influence from Commé Des Garçons top heavy garments.
