Luke Jones is a social documentary photographer from the Black Country, UK. Within his work he explores his personal lived experience on topics such as migration, heritage and class. His projects are often multifaceted and as well as photographs includes, text, audio and sound. Luke studied BA Photography at Birmingham City University and graduated in 2023.
Grass Roots takes an in-depth look into the importance of place and its connection with memory. The two sharing an integral bond that allows us to feel emotions that we may have often forgotten. Grass roots follows my journey through adolescence, taking key moments of my lived experience of being from a mixed heritage working class family. Using a mix of photos and spoken word, Grass roots aims to help gain a better understanding into how and why remembering can have a profound effect on yourself and your outlook on life.
