About

I am a current Print Textile Design student, who has just graduated from the University of Dundee. The following statement is from my current fourth year project, where I generated printed, digital and mix media textiles for an interior purpose -Hame Fae HameHome can be a place, a feeling, or a moment. Shaped by memories, meaning and embodied with possessions, home is transformative – this collection of textiles are crafted to evoke the comfort and safety of home wherever they are placed. The project comprises two complementary moods: mood one draws on the presence of home, through rugged, community- bearing, characterful facades, and tartan traditions, producing vivid, textural weaves that recall layered histories of place; mood two responds to the absence of home across the modernisation of towns, the copy-and-paste repetition of modern flats with graphic, regimented geometry and restrained texture.Influenced by the concepts of Hygge and Coorie, the designs prioritise warmth, intimacy, and shelter. Using layering to evoke togetherness and enclosure, and an employed mix-media approach - devore, thread-pulling, woven texture, yarn manipulation, layered construction, and digital and screen printing – to create a range of translucent-to-opaque surfaces, heightened tactility, and practical durability. These techniques translate and extend my paperwork into textiles that feel both lived-in and crafted. Suited to contemporary homes, Scottish Highland hotels, boutique B and Bs, and hospitality projects, the collections stand alone or combine as interrelated systems. They can function as soft furnishings, upholstery, drapery, and installable elements - designed with packability, easy care and longevity in mind, they intend not just to decorate but to evoke and shape a lasting sense of home.

Hame Fae Hame explores home as a place, feeling and moment, shaped by memory, belonging and our surroundings. Inspired by my Scottish upbringing, the collection contrasts the presence of home — characterful façades, community and traditional textiles — with its absence through the repetition and uniformity of modern housing. Influenced by Hygge and Coorie, I use screen and digital printing, weaving and mixed-media techniques to explore warmth, intimacy and shelter. Layering, transparency, texture and overlapping colour create tactile interior textiles that translate these ideas into contemporary surfaces, designed to evoke a lasting sense of comfort, familiarity and home.
