About

I am a recent graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone, gaining a 2:1 in Interior and Environmental Design at undergraduate level. During my 4 years at DJCAD I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to study for 6 months at Politecnico di Milano enhancing my studies and progressing my style as a designer. I am now about to travel to Bali, Indonesia for a 6-month course in Tropical Architecture, Green and Interior Design at the Institut Desain and Bisnis Bali, to seek inspiration from alternative cultures and design styles. As a designer, I draw inspiration from personal aspects of my life and the natural world around me. I am really interested in the weather and how as designers we can alter environments to combat the positive and negative effects of weather on humans. I believe that good design has the power to positively impact communities, and I strive to create projects that are both aesthetically pleasing and beneficial to those who will interact with them.My creative process involves a mix of collages and sketch models, allowing me to explore and refine ideas until they are fully realised. But most importantly, I always aim to keep my work fun, injecting a sense of playfulness and joy into everything I design.

‘Highlife’ is a project to reimagine North Berwick Harbour. The redesign involves the creation of a walkway that prioritizes the functionality and needs of harbour users. By implementing a variety of features, such as seating, a restaurant, boat facilities and a tidal lido, the walkway enhances the usability of the space and creates a welcoming and enjoyable environment for locals and visitors. The project draws inspiration from the existing harbour features and parts of sailboats specifically sails, rope and pullies. In addition to the walkway, the harbour's dinghy park has been reorganised by the renovation of the existing buildings, freeing space for local companies and artists to sell their work in a marketplace. The facilities for clubs have been upgraded by the introduction of boat and equipment storage, meeting rooms, showers, toilets and changing rooms. A new pavilion offers space for educational and entertainment opportunities. This project aims to create a space that not only meets the practical needs of harbour users but also inspires a sense of community and connection to the water.
