About
I am a Costume Design and Making student currently studying at Buckinghamshire New University. My passion for sewing has grown over the years, starting from sewing trinkets to sell at school fares to making garments to enter world-wide competitions.I fell in love with theatre from a young age, growing up with the immersive beauty that has made me strive and develop a set of costume skills I am proud of and well known for within my community.The future is truly unknown, but I will never lose my love for the creative arts, both theatre and film.
This project was my FMP in my Level 3 Extended Diploma in Fashion and textiles at Exeter College. The Covid-19 Pandemic inspired me to focus on the contrast between high end, red carpet fashion and lounge wear. I took inspiration from Met Gala looks and what celebrities advertised themselves wearing during the Lockdown. I created a collection of clothes that provide comfort but have the appearance of high end couture pieces we see on runways. These garments were made completely out of recycled towel fabric and hand dyed to achieve each colour i desired.
