About
Tami discovered her passion for drawing and painting at a very young age. With brush strokes and colours, she creates images that are near to her heart. As a result, everyday life and the people around her are never far away. The often fragmentary foreground is balanced by the many clean graphic surfaces. In her graduation project, she took on the challenge of translating the romantic atmosphere of fairy tales into her personal visual language.
In her work La Belle et la Bête, Tami Vera revisits the fairy tales that so often captured her imagination as a child. Based on the original story by Mme de Villeneuve, a girl searches for her place in the world and her role in relation to the other characters. Nuance and everyday life always find their way into Tami's work. Equally contributing to the atmosphere of the story are the colours and spatiality of the images. Every detail has been chosen with care, yet there is still plenty of room for personal exploration and interpretation.
