About
I'm Connie Slater, a multi-disciplinary designer with a love for all things creative. I specialise in graphic design, experience design, and UX, but I’m always curious and never tied to just one medium. Whether I’m prototyping, storyboarding, branding, or user testing, I love digging into the why behind a design. I’m all about bold ideas, playful execution, and making things that not only work, but spark a bit of joy. Outside of the studio, I’m endlessly fascinated by advertising and marketing, and how design connects people to stories.
Meet Larry the Lizard — a chaotic, sea-loving character born from the Bournemouth coastline, inspired by Studio Ghibli and classic Marvel. This project was all about character development, storytelling, and visual world-building. Working with Paradox Comics and the RNLI, I created Larry to help teach children about water safety in a way that felt fun, memorable, and just a little bit wild. It was such a great chance to mix illustration, narrative design and audience thinking; crafting a character that could live in comics, animations or even merchandise.
