About

Hi! I'm Faith and I recently graduated 2023 Spring from Art Center College of Design with a BS in Entertainment Design (Concept Track). I was born and raised in Singapore but have been residing in Los Angeles over my time in school. I am currently working in the games industry as an Environment Concept Artist. Growing up with games, I've always been cognizant of how such an interactive medium has brought countless meaningful stories and experiences to generations of people. I've sought to recreate that magic through my projects and hope that my work will eventually have the power to inspire and draw people to the medium of video games.

A pitch for a video game based on an original story. It is a playful spin on the classic post-apocalyptic Earth story where the deteriorated state of planet has allowed for alien species of 'Earth enthusiasts' to visit in pursuit of some kind of research and quest for knowledge. The player controls a dog representing the human race to seek out these aliens and aid them on their quest in order to find the key to restoring the planet. A key focus on the project was to deliver a fun and cohesive world that still conveyed the tone of the project which was daunting with a stylized project where anything could be possible! I ended up spending a lot of time developing a cohesive shape language and system of motifs that spread throughout the world of Little Envoy. There is the organic, raised and 'bouncy' shapes that indicate the elements the player should interact with-- the Aliens and their culture, alongside the various blights that have infected the various natural landscapes. There is also a more geometric, 'carved in' shape design in the rest of the landscape that recede into the background to form the original world that used to be. Each location and character are designed to evoke a different mood and feeling, a challenge in playing with vibrant palletes of colour without going overboard. All these elements I tried to weave together to create what I felt could be a potentially memorable and engaging experience for a future player.
