About
I am a Costume Design and Making student currently studying at Buckinghamshire New University. My passion for sewing has grown over the years, starting from sewing trinkets to sell at school fares to making garments to enter world-wide competitions.I fell in love with theatre from a young age, growing up with the immersive beauty that has made me strive and develop a set of costume skills I am proud of and well known for within my community.The future is truly unknown, but I will never lose my love for the creative arts, both theatre and film.
This project involved perfecting the complexity of tailoring to make a well fitted waistcoats inspired by the 1800’s. Focused on the Russian play ‘Marriage’ by Nikolai Gogol with the character design being Ivan Kuzmich Podkolyosin. Taking inspiration from Russian architecture, the winding vine design is entirely hand embroidered; along with the interlaced wedding rings. This project was entirely sustainable with all fabrics and embellishments being sourced from dead stock and personal storage. Modelled by Oliver Timms
