About:
Linea Matei was born and raised in Södertälje, with two sisters, a father from Romania and a mother from Kiruna. Her multicultural background has enriched her life and contributed to her quest to explore through art how relationships, cultural norms and power structures affect people and society. Through conceptual and illustrative art, textile print design and workshops, she explores relations, behaviours and cultural norms.
Linea recently graduated from her Master studies in Craft at Konstfack University of Art, Craft and Design. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Textile Art and Design from Konstfack University of Art, Craft and Design in Stockholm 2017, and has a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design from West London College.
Merge. If we hang out long enough, through all different moods, showing our insides, will we gradually blend into a new form together to become indistinguishable from each other? Merge is supposed to be printed very large. The original drawing for the print is approximately 150x350cm. Drawn by hand with touch on paper, then enhanced with photoshop and tested on textile print.
