About

Harriet is a surface print designer whose work is rooted in a lifelong passion for creativity, art and design. Inspired by the natural world and global travel, she draws on organic forms, textures and cultural references to create expressive designs. Her practice centres on storytelling through print, combining hand-painted and drawn motifs with digital processes to achieve both richness and detail. Often enhanced with embroidery, her work explores texture, depth and a sense of craftmanship. With an eye for detail, Harriet creates designs that are visually striking yet cohesive, balancing creativity with commercial awareness. Her work aims to go beyond decoration, celebrating storytelling, craftsmanship, and the beauty of the world around us.

pearl of the indian ocean

Pearl of the Indian Ocean is a luxury interior and lifestyle collection inspired by the vibrant landscape, rich cultural heritage and spiritual depth of Sri Lanka. Rooted in my personal experience of solo travelling in Sri Lanka, translating the beauty, craftsmanship and strong sense of place into immersive designs that celebrate its identity. Drawing inspiration from the island's flora and fauna, such as water lilies and elephants, which hold cultural and spiritual significance alongside traditional textiles and Buddhist symbolism, referencing the intricate interiors of the Dambulla cave temples. All motifs begin as gouache paintings, creating a distinctive painterly quality and intricate surface detail. These are then translated into digital formats, preserving the original marks while enabling the development of complex repeat patterns for wallpapers and textile applications. Digital embroidery is also incorporated to enhance texture and depth, reinforcing a strong sense of craftmanship and luxury. The colour palette is inspired by the Dambulla Caves, traditional textiles and natural landscapes, featuring tones of green, fuchsia, and teal. Together, these colours evoke themes of spirituality, nature, and opulence, aligning with the contemporary luxury interiors market. Designed for bedroom spaces, Pearl of the Indian Ocean targets design-conscious consumers who value individuality, craftsmanship, storytelling and maximalist aesthetics within their interiors. The collection transforms spaces into an immersive oasis, creating a sense of escapism that evokes travel, culture and personal connection. The collection features wallpaper, bedding, curtains and cushions, alongside coordinating printed pyjamas that reflect and complement the interior designs, creating a cohesive and immersive lifestyle collection. Pearl of the Indian Ocean is a tribute to Sri Lanka's beauty and cultural richness, bringing its spirit into contemporary living spaces through bold, expressive and deeply personal design.
