About
I am a Costume Design and Making student currently studying at Buckinghamshire New University. My passion for sewing has grown over the years, starting from sewing trinkets to sell at school fares to making garments to enter world-wide competitions.I fell in love with theatre from a young age, growing up with the immersive beauty that has made me strive and develop a set of costume skills I am proud of and well known for within my community.The future is truly unknown, but I will never lose my love for the creative arts, both theatre and film.
My entry into the 2022/2023 Royal Opera House competition; creating an innovative design on the Magic Flute Opera. I placed second within Exeter College and have been commended by many for this piece. Papageno with a child-like twist, incorporating jester like features inspired from antique children’s books and old artifacts in museums I focused on leaning in to the comedic characteristics. Combining this with his Bird-Catcher title within the Opera I played with primary colours and lots of motion in fabrics and other three-dimensional features within the costume.
