Urban Geo is a contemporary fashion print collection featuring two capsule collections inspired by architecture in Manchester, Leeds, Salford and Liverpool. Inspired by Bauhaus designers: Anni Albers, Gunta Stolz, Piet Mondrian and Allison Moffett. Urban Street explores an experimental approach, using applied textile and print processes to inform digital design ideas. Inspired by brands such as Monki and designers Bethany Williams and Camille Walala the final collection is fun and playful. Clashing geometrics in bold colours are applied to recycled denim and sustainable fabrics. The colours for this collection have been inspired by the colour palette ‘reverie’ from the mix journal. Geo City recreates traditional check and houndstooth patterns using digitally manipulated photographs of the city. Created using Photoshop and AVA CAD/CAM the collection is inspired by the shape and structure found within Modern and Neo-Classical buildings, and the form and silhouette created by designers such as Issey Miyake, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen. These designs were created for tailored business attire with a hint of garment manipulation creating a high-end flare. The use of eco-friendly/cruelty free materials and fabrics is common across both capsule collections.
