About
I am a Mixed Media Designer, specialising in Woven Textiles. My woven outcomes explore interactive textures through the use of diverse yarns and bold structural experimentation. Manipulating materials to generate vibrant tactile explorations of colour, texture and pattern is central to my design practice.
Distorted Order is inspired by architectural blocks observed during my travels, alongside the collaged mosaics of Antoni GaudÃ. The project explores the tension between the structured order of weaving and distorted imagery. The precise and linear blocks and stripes juxtapose the irregular and organic motifs to create distorted and graphic woven outcomes. I am interested in how geometric forms can be broken apart and reconstructed, shifting between structure and abstraction.Through bold colour blocking and layered geometry, I create woven samples that balance control and repetition with unpredictability, resulting in dynamic and playful outcomes. By manipulating scale, structure, and material combinations, I push beyond traditional woven repetition to develop textiles that feel both ordered and disrupted. Distorted Order investigates how architectural influence, collage, and graphic composition can be translated into distinctive woven surfaces.
