About
A textile print designer and maker gaining inspiration from environments and human experiences. By using a mixed media approached I am able to create exciting and thought provoking designs focusing on the concept of bringing the outside, in. With an enthusiasm for luxury interiors and sustainability, material quality and professional finish is of high importance in my practice.
Planting the seeds of tomorrow is a luxury interiors collection inspired by British kitchen gardens, gaining visual stimulus from plant beds and the surrounding architecture. My intention for this project was to celebrate the culture of enjoying sustainable, locally grown food. Through my designs I aimed to illustrate a sense of community, something I believe is particularly important in the current political climate. I used high quality, British materials for my samples such as hemp linens, dead stock cottons and sustainable paints to help achieve this. Contextual research is integral to my design process as well as lots of drawing development, focusing on techniques such as screen print and hand-painting to best display my strengths as an artist.

Taking inspiration from a trip to the wonderful island of Cyprus this collection aims to capture the feeling of being on holiday. Playing with themes of tropical botanicals and geometric repeats I created a collection of twelve final samples including a mix of fabrics, wallpapers and hard surfaces. By using hand painted motifs and screen prints I was able to curate a space that successfully captures the essence of Cyprus. Bringing the outside, in. My designs include fabrics, dotted with colourful flowers supported by an array of repeats with motifs sourced from nature and my showstopper piece, a large hand-painted mural depicting a tropical landscape.
