About
My works exist in the borderland between reality and fantasy. I am in a constant state of exploration where background and emotion determine the method, color, and form. I enjoy taking a story and letting it build its own world, to then be told through form.
In 1719, the people of Runmarö, sink their silver in the swamp Silverträsk to protect it from Russian plunderers. When the danger has passed they will retrieve the silver, only no one can recall where in the swamp it was hidden. On moonlit nights, the silver can be seen gleaming from below. However, those who hunt the treasure in the swamp risk eternal misfortune. My work is a reinterpretation of the legend of Silverträsk, a Swedish legend that has been told in various forms over the years. The piece explores the boundary between reality and fantasy and the contrast between a poor everyday life and the dream of an enticing yet dangerous treasure.
