About

I am a multidisciplinary creative with a penchant for moving image and motion but a love for all things design. I have a knack for picking up technical software quickly and a steadfast determination for solving the problems that that tech inevitably spews out. However, I approach creative projects with an ‘idea first’ mindset and as such do not limit myself to a singular technology or style. I relish the opportunity to collaborate - I have found that a collaborative and experimental practice makes for transformative and expansive projects and I’m looking forward to working with more people in the industry.

In my work, but also personally, I have a keen interest in sustainability and the environment. Two of my projects are centred around nature and I recently completed a two week trek across the Balkan mountains. If I’m not spending my weekends on a walk with my camera strap over my shoulder, you’ll find me at any sort of gig that I can get into - also with my camcorder in hand.

Here We Drink is a proposed awareness campaign addressing the rampant sewage pollution in England. Beginning locally, an interactive installation of Ted Hughes' poem 'If' would activate the riverside village of Boston Spa to rise up against sewage pollution. Expanding on this momentum, a countrywide advertising and social media campaign would be launched, using Ted Hughes’ powerful words, the visual language of the installation, and regional sewage pollution data, to get the nation talking about this issue. Finally, Google's variable font technology would be used in the new variation of Cormorant, Cormorant Contaminated, letting individual citizens join the fight against sewage. ‘If’ by Ted Hughes (c) the Estate of Ted Hughes. 'Pup' is a short film following a mother bat and her young pup as they travel the night and adventure together. I created the visuals using a combination of traditional stop-frame animation (the bats themselves) and digital animation in Adobe After Effects (all background elements and lighting). Additionally, in the research stage of this project, I worked with the Nottinghamshire Bat Group to insure the storyline and representation was correct. The film was a collaboration between NTU (ie me, the film-maker), the University of Nottingham (the composer) and the BBC Concert Orchestra (who performed the soundtrack). Pup was shortlisted for the 2024 New Designers Screening Prize. Concert Photography Courtesy of Alex Wilkinson Media
