Inspired by Chines 70's Chinese military housing
I inspired by an chines artist named HUNG LIU.She is known for paintings based on historical Chinese photographs. In my collection I captured her method of dripping paint to give a flowing feel.
AFTER A DISASTER
I named my project as “boring job”. I have been studying business as my major all my four years university life. And all I have in my memory are those boring numbers. I chose business as my major at that time and it was because my parents wanted me to get a “good” job after I graduated. In fact, I didn’t like any normal job in the office. I couldn’t image doing the same thing everyday in the same office and sitting on the same chair. This project, my research started with looking at some nerdy young gentlemen’s clothing. I wanted to visualize what they do, and what their working environment was like everyday. From looking at the office and researching this theme the main shape that came to my mind was the shape of the paper clip. I believe fashion can be not only inspired clothing but also something we work with everyday, just like the paper clip for the office workers. For my understandings about fashion is influenced your surrounding environment but not only by fabric or clothing but by an object. In a word, I don’t want to be fastened in a position day after day. Same as my attitude to fashion that doesn’t want to be dictated by others, just be you and satisfy yourself only.
